Capturing the Artisan Food story of The Limerick Milk Market

A new video portraying the Limerick Milk Market Traders’ Food Story was launched Wednesday 18th November 2015 in the Gallery, Market House, at the Milk Market. Attended by the Milk Market Traders, Market Trustees, MKPTV, Failte Ireland, Media and Limerick Metropolitan Mayor Jerry O’Dea.

Filmed over a number of busy Saturday mornings from first light, the video provides an insight into the passion, pride and love with which local artisan food makers produce the simple, honest, and delicious foodstuffs which are eagerly snapped up by some 20,000 people who visit the Milk Market each week.

Telling their food stories in their own words, the traders follow in the rich tradition of superior food production in Limerick and its hinterland, some of the food producers have been around for decades, while we also witness the resurgence in high quality start-up producers in recent years. Christmas choir competition

Christmas choir competition will run during the Christmas Markets (Dates listed) and the winner to be announced on the 24th December at 2pm with a donation to the winning choir of €500.00

Christmas colour in competition

Christmas colour in competition will feature 5 different baseline illustrations  and there will be prizes for the top three entrants of the competition 1st place prize worth €200.00 2nd place  prize worth €100.00 and third place prize worth €50.00.

New Officers Elected by Limerick Market Trustees

At their AGM which was held on Friday 24th July Limerick Market Trustees appointed Mícheál Ó Laoide of Mercury Consulting as Chairman, and Órlaith Borthwick of Limerick Chamber, as the incoming secretary.

The Trustees thanked outgoing Chairman Michael Sheehan for his contribution over the past four years. The Trustees also extended unanimous appreciation to David O’Brien, the outgoing Secretary, who earlier in the year resigned from his role as Manager of the Milk Market.
